What are Just Enough English and ParagraphsPrograms?

Just Enough English and ParagraphsPrograms are targeted toward children diagnosed as language disordered/delayed, autism spectrum disorder, hearing impaired/cochlear implant and/or Childhood Apraxia of Speech, or for English Language Learners, and is appropriate for children with chronological ages of 2 ½ to 10+ years and mental ages of at least 24 months.  Ms. Payne developed JEE and Paragraphs after many years of discovering which treatment strategies are effective and which are inadequate in school and clinical settings.  It isn't just a theoretical framework.

JEE and Paragraphs are about:

bullet

Using restricted syntax to enable children with language and/or literacy deficits to systematically combine words and/or phrases to create sentences, then coherent paragraphs.

bullet

JEE and Paragraphs begin with a simple, quick screening.

bullet

The JEE template provides a visual language gestalt for the child and can anchor an instructional collaboration among the clinicians, classroom teachers, paraprofessionals and parents.

bullet

Preparation for teaching narrative skills.

bullet

Adaptation of mainstream texts.
